Factory Amp Bypass. I've done quite a bit of searches on here but it seems everyone just taps into the rear 6x9's. Those only receive the lower signals though because of the stock amplifier, so tapping into those to send to an amp to power your front components seems wrong. Questions:If you want to bypass it then you have to install a new radio. The amp is technically called an RCU (Radio Control Unit). The (radio) in the dash is just the controls, the actual tuner and amp are built into one unit in the trunk. If you have manual climate controls then it's easy to add a new radio.Posts: 286. The colored pins are full range low level from HU to Amp. The ones that say "Speaker" at the end of the description are the speaker wires from bose amp to speaker.

You must have tapped into the inputs to the factory amp instead of the outputs going to the speakers.The stock amp is located in the passenger kick panel. It should just be clipped on. Remove that panel. You will see the amp tucked up there. Remove the 2 connectors going into it. Now plug connection A into the larger connector and plug connection B into the smaller connector. By-passing the factory amp allows you to use a head unit or an aftermarket amp to power the speakers...therefore you wouldn't be using the factory amp.
